Thank you for visiting Friends In Poetry.

My name is Karen..I've created this page to (hopefully) bring together poets of all types (or anybody for that matter). I myself have been writing for...well...i'd say 7 years already..geez..7 years.. wow...Before i started writing i didn't know a thing about poetry..now..i find it to be one of the most theraputic things on Earth.

You show me yours, I'll show you mine.
I think a big part of poetry is sharing...I'd love to share my poetry with just about anyone, and i'd love to hear what you've got to say..
Please feel free to send in poetry to my Email
(If you want to make sure i don't post it on this page for any reason...say so in the mail..and i won't)
We're all friends here! If your on AOL feel free to Send me a line..I'm Nerak567 and also Kare83Bare. If you ever want to talk...Im usually up for it. And Email is always welcome.

Dear Father
By: Karen

Dear Father,
twelve years ago I trusted you
twelve years ago I believed in you
you were my daddy
and always would be
Twelve years ago YOU STOLE THAT FROM ME
Everything to that age that I had learned
was proved wrong right in front of me
FATHER FATHER I was so young
Father Father, what could I have done?
~ a baby girl (at the age of three) never would understand
why a mommy Is struck down by Daddys hand ~
And why a daddy leaves
~ I WAS ONLY THREE~

And a baby girl would never realize
the selfishness
her daddy owned--
Until the baby sees her mommy {Poor and all alone}
A strong mommy yes
but in a horrified state - nonetheless
Does a father realize, after a draining hurt has stole her life
a mommy will have to give 200 percent more
than she has to give
to keep a baby girl in clothes.
~Youd think a daddy knows.
And even with another girl with plus five years on the baby girl
he never came back to pay a dime
or even to a baby be kind-

A baby girl and sister grow up very fast, in twelve years
I find me stuck in a home (as a child)
I am now an adult, The bad consequence of a stolen childhood.

Yet I need to be cared for
As I did twelve years ago.
I could not have the love I needed then
And no I havent found it yet
I hope a loving God can find it in his heart
- to forgive a man of a terrible thing such as this
There have been times in my life when I could have been saved to innocence
by a daddy in my life
When I needed him so bad, I hated him for not caring.
Now I find I have to forgive a man I do not know.
God I beg you do the same.
Dont punish a man who knows not this pain:
Which is of his own action and imbedded in his history record.

Please my Lord I beg
Please save his life
So he may know not a pain this deep
And I know not a life such as his.

Truly, Maybe, I AM better now than if twelve years ago
a daddy was proud of a baby girl ( with not his name)
and he did stay to save my innocence and failed me then.

I probably paint him
in my mind
better a man than he was
But, God, hes my Father
you must understand
